POLA and POLB set to phase out Container Dwell Fee program

Going back to the initial announcement of this program in October 2021, POLA and POLB have seen a collective 92% decline in aging cargo on their respective docks. What’s more, while the ports’ respective executive directors had the authority from their harbor commissions to implement the fee, the fee was never activated, as cargo owners were able to clear their long-dwelling cargo off of their terminals.
